Tudor’s latest limited edition takes the Black Bay Chrono into radical new territory, marrying classic design with advanced materials. The “Carbon 25” features a 42 mm feather-weight carbon‑fiber case with an integrated tachymeter bezel, is 14.3 mm thick, and offers 200 meters water resistance. The watch is powered by the MT5813 column‑wheel chronograph movement with a 70‑hour power reserve, which is the same as the original Black Bay Chrono (which I am wearing on my wrist).
The watch’s crisp white opaline dial is punctuated by blue accents inspired by the Racing Bulls F1 livery, complemented by recessed carbon‑fiber sub‑counters and a matching black date disc. Applied markers and hands are well-lumed for clarity after dark with a light blue coloring to match the livery.
Though Tudor has flirted with carbon ceramic cases in past releases, this is its first full carbon‑fiber case for the chronograph series. That said, other brands such as Formex have offered forged carbon watches like the Essence Leggera FortyOne that I have on my wrist here, which costs about a third of the Carbon 25.
Limited to just 2,025 individually numbered pieces, the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25” represents a compelling fusion of Tudor’s motorsport heritage and its recent push into cutting‑edge materials. At $7,575, it sits at the top end of the Black Bay Chrono line, but for collectors seeking a modern, race‑inspired twist, it’s a pole‑position pickup in my opinion.
